ALPS Mountaineering was started in 1994 by Dennis Brune, who had 16 years of previous experience in the outdoor industry before starting ALPS. The products engineered by ALPS Mountaineering are designed with knowledge, by people like Dennis, who have been creating, testing, and selling backpacking and camping products for more than a quarter of a century.
ALPS OutdoorZ is our second brand that we introduced featuring camp furniture, hunting stools and packs in camouflage patterns. We recognized that there is a market for quality gear when you're hunting, just like there is when you're camping or backpacking. We've extended our knowledge gained from making and selling technical ALPS Mountaineering packs that are loaded with features and furniture that is sturdier, wider, and more comfortable into our ALPS OutdoorZ line.
ALPS became the licensee of Browning Camping in 2009. Browning uses the phrase "The Best There Is" and we believe we offer "The Best There Is" in tents, sleeping bags, air pads, and furniture. We know when you're away from home hunting, you need your camping gear to be just as dependable as your gun or bow. All the specs found on Browning Camping products are going to be top-of-the-line.

Denali 5500
I just got back from a moutaineering trip in the Cascades and took the Denali 5500 pack with me. It performed great. My pack on the way in was in the 65-70lb range. The ascent to base camp took me through low trees and bushes that kept snagging me and the pack but no damage was done because of its durability. Obviously, that kind of weight can not be described as comfortable to carry in any pack but I believe because of the design of the Denali my discomfort was minimized.

Mystique 1.5 AL Tent
On initial set up, tent was extremely easy to assemble. Took me less than 5 minutes to get it out and up, and that was on the first attempt. After setting the tent up several more times I was able to easily erect the structure in virtually no time at all. I love this tent, and for less than 1/2 the price of competitors brands. Being summer I didn't get to try this tent out in cool weather, which is a shame as I feel it would perform even better in cool temperatures than it does in warm weather. I've had no problems with the tent on the first three months of use, very durable, definitely a great product. This tent will be replacing my Eureka 2 person tent on my next backpacking trip.
