The Crescent Lake series sleeping bags are made with Techloft+ insulation. Techloft+ Insulation consists of multi-hole staple-length micro-denier fibers that have a siliconized finish for maximum insulation, loft, and compactness. The Crescent Lake uses a 2-layer offset construction, sometimes called a "bag within a bag." The contoured hood and mummy shape helps seal up your warmth and keep you warmer. The Crescent Lake is a great backpacking sleeping bag to take along on your hikes that won't take up all the space in your pack.
The Crescent Lake -20 degree bag is simply amazing. This mummy bag is roomy and comfortable. The "long" fits my 6'2" frame perfectly and the loft added an additional layer of cushion that lulled me to sleep. The second test for warmth was in the Utah wilderness at an elevation of 9,000 feet. The temperatures dipped down into the teens and I felt NONE of it!!!! I usually sleep with a beanie hat on to keep my bald head from losing all my heat. I'm happy to say I abandoned the hat and cinched down the mummy bag until only my face was visible. Warm, warmer, warmest!!! My exposed face was literally freezing, but my t-shirt adorned body was toasty warm. I will never freeze again with the Crescent Lake -20 degree bag! Thank you for meeting and beating my expectations with a sweet bag. I recommend Alps Mountaineering to everyone who asks and some that don't!

This bag is great! I took it up Mt. Tyndale, CA 14,015ft on July 7, 2011. Spent the night on top in a tiny rock opening because it was too dark to descend and it was starting to rain. So it kept me nice and warm despite being a bit damp and being at high elevation. I would guess the temp dropped slightly below freezing overnight after the thunderstorms passed as there was fresh ice on the rocks. So I'm sure the bag would work well down to 20 deg, especially if sleeping a bit lower with more oxygen. Also the bag is way light!
I really love this mummy bag. I bought a really compact mummy bag before this one but I had to return it because it was so lightweight that it didn't keep me warm. I bought this sleeping bag in its place and it keeps me really warm. It is a bit bigger than the one I had before, and it's honestly a little frustrating to get it in the stuff sack if you don't have it rolled really tightly, but it's a great product. The zipper hasn't snagged or anything, and once it's in the sack, it's very portable. I'm very satisfied.
Since I ran across a nice priced deal, I bought two of these bags (+20º Regular) for me and my son. We made a trip up northeast this past spring and the bag did not only hold-up to our campouts, but it kept us warm too. I didn't really pay much attention to it, but my son liked the colors of the bag...I was more impressed that it provided a zipper that didn't snag. Nothing too complex or extreme about this bag, it just does the job when you need a good, quality camping bag.
