Air Pads Testimonials
Comfort Series Air Pad
Very well constructed and ruggedly sturdy, but still rolls up tightly and self-inflates completely with just the littlest assistance. One side is a no-slip material that really works well, keeping you from 'surfing' in your tent all night! I would purchase this again and recommend it to others.

Comfort Series Air Pad
I've had Therm-a-Rest pads for years, and have always loved them. I never thought I'd ever like another pad as much, but yet here I am... The truth is that I bought this pad for my wife as an add-on item when buying her pack, before her first real wilderness camping outing. I figured if she didn't take to the hobby, I wouldn't be out as much as I would have been had I bought her a comparable Therm-a-Rest, and I wouldn't mind passing this pad on to one of my boys (for Scout trips). When it arrived, some things that caught my eye right away, namely the stuff sack, the repair kit, and the finish. Let's consider the finish first. One side has a micro-fiber feel, and the other has little rubberized bumps (the kind you often see on slipper socks or some winter gloves). I instantly thought of all the summer trips I had been on where the nylon shell of my Therm-A-Rest pad was simply not comortable in the heat--the micro-fiber finish on the ALPS comfort series pad would make those hot, sweaty days a little more tolerable (and use proved that hypothesis correct). Those little bumps on the bottom also meant I wouldn't need to carry a roll of that non-slip stuff you get on rolls (sometimes used under rugs or in drawers/cabinets)--at least not for my wife's pad. The accessories, a stuff sack and a repair kit, may seem like no big deal to you, but those items are sold separately for Therm-a-Rest pads (around $15 for the bag and up to $10 for the repair kit--$25 in all), so that made this purchase an even greater bargain! I was actually really shocked to see that they sent the stuff sack and the repair kit with the pad. I've been very impressed with the quality--no problems during the first year of use, from cabin camping on the floor to a trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness with much use in between. The valve is solid and it does inflate fast (faster than my other pad), and the non-slip side really does the trick. The only bad part about the pad is that it is still technically my wife's, but since she and I don't often get out together (I'm typically out with the guys or the Scouts), it has become my new favorite pad. Had I not just replaced my own pad just a couple of years ago, I'd buy another one of these to call my own. Don't get me wrong--Therm-a-Rest pads are still great pads, but this one just far exceeded my expectations. It is of comparable quality, but those little extras (the finish, and the included stuff sack and repair kit) make this pad a much better buy. Sure, you can find lighter pads out there for your most extreme lightweight backpacking trips, but you can't beat this one as an all-around pad. Give it a try--you won't be disappointed!

Lightweight Air Pad
My husband and I purchased two of these for our church youth trek last week. I'm NOT an outdoors person and was dreading sleeping at night on the ground. We've tried lots of other camping pads through the years including Thermarest, but these XL size pads (77 x 30) meant my sleeping bag didn't slide off the pad during the night. The pads are remarkably comfortable and as a side sleeper I didn't once feel the ground on my hip or side. My husband's a big guy and he also loves this pad - tall enough and wide enough for him. It is easy to inflate (most of it inflates automatically) and easy to roll back into its compact size. Lightweight, durable materials too. Almost convinced me that sleeping in the great outdoors is worth it!

Lightweight Air Pad
I have a Thermorest I spent twice the money on, This Pad is LIGHTER, THICKER, and better built. I am back to buy another because now my daughter even refuses to use the thermorest. This pad give great R factor in added warmth, has a large valve for inflation/deflation. It is built like steel and weighs like silk. I am a 350 lb backpacker and I never touch ground with the support this pad offers.

Lightweight Air Pad Double
I love these foam pads. It's better than my old Thermarest. Super thick and comfortable and easier to sleep on than an air mattress or cot (or the hard ground). I like the fact that two pads can be velcroed together and don't come apart. I highly recommend this product to anyone seeking a good night's rest while camping. It's probably too heavy for backbacking but boy are they comfortable!

Outfitter Air Pad
Length, width and thickness are perfect for me. The "Suede" is great, I didn't slide around at all (unlike my "Brand X" pad). I'm looking forward to more camping to use the pad. So far best pad I've ever used!

Self Inflating Air Pad
I may have used the Alps Pad more times in the first two month of ownership than any other customer you have. Getting this Alps Pad has proven for me to be one of the best things I have purchased for relief from my back pain. As I mentioned in earlier emails, I have had two low back surgeries and am fused from S-1 thru L-4 complete is titanium screws and other devices. I had the first surgery in 1998 and the second in 2001. my remaining pain is classified as chronic and my "best friend" appears to be my pain management doctor. I spend 15-16 hours a day lying down. Until the Alps Pad my life function was very limited by the demands of managing my pain. I may still spent the same amount of down time, but now a large portion of it can be with family in the living room, watching movies, TV and talking as opposed to me being in the bedroom by myself or laying uncomfortably in the floor. This apply's to our home as well as our friends homes. Needles to say, the Alps Pad had been wonderful for me at home and on the road, both by our Roadtrak and my Harley. Today's photos show a very typical scene of how I use the pad in conjunction with the Harley to extend my day trips.

Comfort Series Air Pad Short
The pad was outstandingly comfortable. I slept on a gravel bar and had no problems at all sleeping. I have been using a Therm-A-Rest Expedition and so far this air pad blows the Expedition away.

Self Inflating Air Pad XL
I really think that this is an outstanding product! The fact that it is a very high quality product at about half of the price as the other popular name brand pads.

Self Inflating Air Pad XL
We finally got to use the pad and it was fantastic. Compared to thermarest your product is just as good for half the price.
